Shannen Doherty reveals on the first episode of her new podcast, “Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty,” that she had brain surgery after discovering her now ex-husband cheated.

The “Beverly Hills, 90210” actor is openly speaking about two of the most difficult moments in her life that happened at the same time. In her new podcast, Doherty shares how she discovered that she had a life-threatening brain tumor and that her 11-year marriage with her third husband, Kurt Iswarienko, was ending.

“I went into that surgery early in the morning and I went in after I found out that my marriage was essentially over, that my husband had been carrying on an affair for two years,” the actor and cancer advocate said on her podcast (via People). “To not go in that surgery, even though, being very clear, he wanted to go, I couldn’t go into that surgery with him there. I felt so betrayed.”

Doherty and Iswarienko announced their divorce in April, citing the couple’s “irreconcilable differences” in the divorce filing.

Doherty discovered that her husband had been cheating on her throughout their entire relationship.

“At the end of the day, I just felt so incredibly unloved by someone I was with for 14 years, by someone I loved with all my heart,” Doherty said. “Just to have to go through all of that while trying to figure out if you’re going to get a f***ing divorce and trying to get to the truth of that.”

Doherty’s representative, Leslie Sloane, told TMZ in April, “Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted. Unfortunately, she felt she was left with no other option. You can contact Kurt’s agent, Collier Grimm at PICTUREKID as she is intimately involved.”

Feeling “obsessed” with knowing the truth of her husband’s infidelity, Doherty talked with Iswarienko as well as “the girlfriend of two years that he cheated on me with.”

“It was embarrassing,” Doherty said. “I am horrified that I can’t keep a relationship together. I think it is a reflection of me, but this one I think is on him. I’ve failed three times at marriage, but I still believe in love.”

Doherty was previously married to Ashley Hamilton in 1993 and Rick Salomon in 2002.

Doherty revealed to People that she has been receiving treatment for her Stage 4 cancer for eight years. In January, the “Charmed” actor received surgery and radiation treatment on her brain at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. That same month, she and Iswarienko separated. Her mom, brother, and best friend supported her through the operation.

Instead of walking away, Doherty clung to the hope of finding a better solution for their relationship. However, Doherty said that she had to make the “really hard” decision to end their 14-year-old relationship.

While Doherty is still healing from her ex-husband’s betrayal, the actor is still “open” to finding love again. “I don’t think I’m going to be single forever,” Doherty said. “I have to love myself and reckon with the past, really, before I can move forward, and now I’m pretty sure I’ll meet somebody—hopefully soon.”
